ABOUT

Nhu Thien, also known as Grace, is the founder of 'Graceful Box' which grew out of her work as an interpreter for trainee speech and language therapists in Vietnam. As an English teacher with 10 years of experience, language and communication is a passion for Grace, which she loves to share with others.

Grace saw an opportunity to use her skills and experience to support English teachers to build their skills and knowledge, increase access to learning English for those on a low income, and at the same time increase access to speech and language therapy, inclusion and employment opportunities for people with communication disabilities.

Graceful Box has provided funds to support speech and language therapy for a 10 year old boy with Down's Syndrome, supported a special school for children with autism, and a school for children with disabilites in Da Nang. 

​

Future plans include training for teachers in mainstream schools to support inclusion for children with communication disabilites, and support for employers to include adults with communication disabilites, as well as to support the EE deaf club teachers to teach Vietnamese sign.
